Best Thing To Happen For Linda
Posted on 10/28/2009

Linda suffers from Tardive Dykensia which has required her to take prescriptions to slow down her involuntary movements. Problem is that it has slowed her done from head to toe. For over 18 months it took Linda approximately 3 - 4 hours to get herself dressed, made-up and her hair done. It was very frustrating and was becoming a healthcare issue for the two of us. One evening I asked if she ever thought that she would like a wig? She said that she thought of it but did not want to cut her hair all off. Convincing her that we needed to talk to a professional and could make our decision after that. Grabbing the phone book I located Gayla Wigs which was close to where we live. I made the call and set an appointment up. We were both excited and apprehensive but not for long. Gayle took us in her private consultation room, listened to our concerns, addressed them showing the utmost care and discussed the advantages for Linda. Linda wanted her wig to match her existing color and as close to her style as possible. Gayle hit on the head with her selection. She fitted the wig to fit Linda, gave her the chance to express how she wanted it trimmed and it was all done. Linda walked out of Gayla's a new person with a new attitude and an ever present smile I had not seen too often. After three weeks we needed to have it trimmed; called Gayle and saw her two days later. She fixed the problem without a charge. I had seen and Linda had tried on a second wig at our initial appointment (to show her the possibilities-down the road. Well while Gayle was fixing the original, I asked her if she had the reddish wig in stock. A quick stitch or two, a little custom trimming; by her able assistant Terri and I now have a beautiful (not too red) headed wife. I love it, She loves it. If you find yourself in any sort of situation similar to ours, I urge you to call Gayla - it has been the best thing that could have happened for Linda & Me in many a year. Thanks Gayle & Terri Linda & Joe Beridon The Woodlands, Texas

Outstanding service

If you're looking for personalized service, this is the place to go. I am losing my hair due to a combination of factors, hereditary and stress and I was feeling really depressed. So I decided to go for my first wig but did not know where to go or where to start. I knew I did not want to go to a wig shop and buy one I wanted somebody to help me choose, to show me how to wear and adapt it to my style and facial features. I Googled personalized wig service in Texas and found Gayla Wigs and after reading the testimonials, decided to give it a try. This is why I am writing this review to help other women in the same situation I was. As soon as she greeted me I realized there was a special warmth about her which is not easy to find these days. I spent over an hour with her and her assistant, she listens to what you want and does not try to impose. She adapts the wig to your measurements, styles it and cuts it the way you want it. She shows you how to put it on and how to take care of it, I am really happy with my new wig and very grateful to Gayle for her wonderful service.

Just The Best Experience

My wife has been losing her hair due to medications so we went to Gayla Wigs in the Woodlands. Gayle met us at the door and gave my wife personal attention throughout the visit. She took time to listen to my wife's needs and concerns. She helped my wife find the perfect wig, then custom cut and fitted it for her. Gayle showed her how to care for the wig and gave lots of suggestions for styling it for different occasions. It is obvious that Gayle has passion for helping people and really cares for her customers. My wife now can go out in public and feel confident that her hair looks beautiful. The level of care and skill was surprising but the best surprise was the reasonable price. All in all it was just the best experience!

What a blessing

After experiencing a significant hair loss due to a change in medication, I recently stopped by Sherry's Wigs on my lunch hour just to look around the shop. I left with a $325 wig and totally clueless on how to care for it. Not only did the wig not fit properly, the itching from this wig soon became unbearable. I received no help and/or suggestions when I contacted the salon with this problem. While searching the internet for help, I discovered Gayla's website. When I explained the situation to Gayla, she was kind enough to set aside time for me to stop by and visit with her on a one-on-one basis. After spending more than an hour with her, I left with products necessary to care for the wig along with the knowledge about the wig that I should have received when I purchased the wig from Sherry's Wigs. Not once did Gayla try to sell me of her wigs, which I must say are absolutely beautiful and are NOT made with the itchy lining that my wig contained. There is no doubt my next wig will definitely be purchased from Gayla. Thank you, Gayla, for your genuine care and concern. God bless you! Karen Bennett Less

Excellent in all ways!

Gayle is a gift to Texas and a blessing to everyone who meets her. She provides personal service during difficult times. She genuinely cares about her clients. For me she personally fitted the wig and styled it in complete privacy and with professional expertise. She went out of her way to provide me with the very best of service and care. My friends and family all think the wig is just perfect, natural looking and pretty. I think it is better than natural! I wish everyone in Texas knew what a professional wig salon should be like. It should be like Gayla Wigs. Gayle can easily be your first and last stop for a wig.

I have a disease that has affected me mentally in such a way, that a deep depression lead me to an experience comparable to imprisonment (of my own home due to the development of an agoraphobic state), after the experience of losing my hair at the age of 28. I have always had long hair, and for several reasons that would take me too long to explain, it was one of my only features of myself that I attached to my identity, as well as, self confidence, and what made me "feel attractive/pretty". With the loss of my hair I receded into the safe confinement of my home, rarely even leaving my house. Following that I even lost the love of all of my interests, and hobbies. Only 3 months before this loss, my boyfriend of 6 years had proposed to me. My life took a downward spiral into deep anger, and then depression due to the loss of my beautiful long brunette hair. A year passed, no wedding, when the news came that my aunt was diagnosed with cancer. She went through chemotherapy and lost her beautiful red hair. Another person that happened to be a mutual friend of ours recommended her to go to Gayla Wigs and see Gayle, for what became a life changing experience for her. My aunt recommended that I go to see Gayle also, being concerned over the state that I was in. It was seriously like everyone else has said, first of all, she new the exact wig that was right for me within a minute of us meeting. Also, she has the the biggest variety of the latest hair style fashions in the most colors than you could imagine. My experience was also amazing concerning her understanding of the trials I was going through concerning my complete loss of self confidence, and lack of identity due to my self image that had thrown me into this great depression in the first place. I now have 5 wigs, which she was very skilled at cutting to make it even more personal to my features. Needless to say I left her place smiling from ear to ear, I finally felt free again, to live my life, and leave my house to say the least. But best of all, that confidence led to my fiancé (now husband) and I finally setting a date for our wedding. The day of it, Gayle styled my wig, and veil so beautiful for the wedding, and used her magic to make sure that through all of the hugs, festivities, dancing, and congratulations, my wig remained secure, and in place through all four hours, and then including the 8 hour plane ride on the way to our honeymoon the next day. Basically because of Gayle, I gained the confidence, and the courage to marry the love of my life, after two full years of engagement, and eight years of dating. As you sit in her styling chair you will notice several awards that she has obtained from various companies as a top buyer of their stylish wigs. To me that can only mean that Gayle has a very large number of satisfied clients turned friends. She is also a wonderful giver, who volunteers her free time to MD Anderson Cancer center helping many cancer patients within the hospital by donating and styling many wigs, as well as maintaining them. I admire Gayle so much, and totally recommend that you MUST go to her, she will change your outlook on life, and of your own appearance. This April of 2009 I went from engaged, to bride, to wife, and I don't think I would have ever felt "good enough about myself" to do so without her help. Thank you Gayle for everything, you are an amazing woman!!!

New found confidence!

I have struggled with hereditary hair loss throughout my adult life. Hours of standing in front of the mirror trying to make a little go a long way using expensive hair products, is so disheartening. After years of living overseas, my husband and I re-located to Houston and I finally decided to do something positive for myself and seek professional advice. Thank goodness on my first nervous phone call I talked to Gayle. When my husband and I went to see her she treated us with respect and total privacy. She found exactly the right style and color and we were amazed at the transformation! Gayle gave me back my dignity and self confidence. She is a true professional who obviously loves what she does, helping women not only like me but also those who have hair loss due to illness through to recovery. We will soon be re-locating to Africa and I am looking forward to traveling with complete confidence and many new heads of hair! Thank you Gayle!

So Grateful!!!

At twenty-six years old I was shocked to find myself feeling excited about losing my hair! I made an appointment with Gayle, owner of Gayla Wigs, prior to beginning chemotherapy with the expectation of experiencing some tough emotions as this whole 'cancer thing' became even more of a reality. Instead, the joy of the Lord shone brightly through Gayle as she unknowingly ministered to my heart with her reassuring spirit and hopeful outlook. She graciously aided my wig selection by sharing her years of expertise then customized the wigs to reflect my personality. Yes, I said wigs, plural. Once viewing all the options she has available it seemed impossible to pick just one! It is obvious that Gayle is right smack dab in the middle of God's will for her life as she faithfully shows love and compassion to all who enter store.

Exceptional The Only Choice for a Wig
Posted on 02/26/2009

Words cannot express my gratitude for the heartfelt caring service which Gayle at Gayla Wigs offers. As Gayle herself states, "Any hair loss can be traumatic." After losing my hair from chemotherapy for cancer I lost my dignity and sense of self. However, what I thought was sure to be the worst past of cancer was only a minor inconvenience due to a special "wig angel" named Gayle. Her professional knowledge of her product combined with her compassion and sensitivity to her client made the entire experience a pure delight. My husband is so pleased with the wig, when this is over, he wants me to shave my head and wear a wig! Who could ask for more from a wig? Thanks Gayle.

PERSONAL, PRIVATE, GREAT SERVICE!

I have been losing my hair for twenty years due to an irreversible medical condition, and I finally needed a wig last fall. As any woman with hair loss knows, this issue is more than superficial or cosmetic. It can affect your self-confidence and the image you present to the world. Purely by chance, I ran across an ad for Gayla Wigs in the local newspaper. I am so glad I read the paper that day! Gayle provides professional yet warm and personable service. Her empathy, patience, and expertise helped me find exactly what I needed. Gayle's genuine concern and interest for her clients is evident. She didn't hesitate to offer her honest opinion and worked with me until each wig fit perfectly and I was satisfied. Gayle has always been available to answer questions and make adjustments when necessary. Following my latest purchase at Gayla Wigs, my co-workers and friends were very complimentary of my new "cut and color," and my family (who know I wear a wig), still couldn't believe how "real" it looks, and think it's "so cute!" At a recent big event, I was able to cross a stage in front of thousands of people with confidence, because I feel good about how I look (thanks, Gayle!).

I recently made a huge leap of faith and moved to Dallas to accept a position with the company that I work for. I have been told that there isn’t anything that you can’t find in the Dallas Metro Plex. Well, that’s not quite true. I have made it a point to investigate some of the wig shops in the area and I have been severely disappointed with what I found. The sales people are just that. No one took a personal interest in my plight nor did they offer any evidence that they understood the emotional trauma associated with losing your hair. So.. I will continue to rely on Gayle to support my needs. She never made me feel like a patron to her business. She made me feel like I had just become a member in the sisterhood. Her attention to my needs was not only genuine, it was personal. Bless you for what you do...everyday…for all your sisters Shirley Barton

What a true gift

My mother-n-law is undergoing chemo and had a hard time losing her hair due to the treatment. She went to other wig shops and it was basically as if to say 'here's your wig out of the box, good luck' and felt discouraged. Gayle's shop is completely different. Her work comes from her heart. She has a true passion for what she does and takes to heart each individual's circumstances. I sent her a picture of what her hair looked like before our appointment and Gayle studied that picture and fit her perfectly... the color, the style, the fit... everything was just right. My mother-n-law looked incredible and she felt like a million dollars! Here is part of the email I sent to Gayle to thank her for such a wonderful job - "I just wanted to take a minute to email you to let you know that you have a true gift. I wish more people would take to heart their own personal distresses and turn them into something wonderful - because they know the struggles of what it’s like to face certain challenges. That’s the way to change people’s lives… and clearly you have that wonderful ability to do that. Thanks again for your commitment, your talent and most of all your kind heart." Please see her, she will change your life.

Changes from the inside out!

I received a call from a friend of my asking if I would go with her to pick out her wig. She has cancer and starting her treatments soon, so she knew this was something she had to do. Wow, what an honor to be asked to help someone make a life choice like this. Unless you have gone through this you wouldn't think of hair as a life choice but from the way my friend looked and felt when she walked in Gayle's shop to the way she looked and felt when we walked out, it was definitely a life changing moment, she looked beautiful from the inside out! I cannot express to you what a gift Gayle has. She fit my friend in the perfect wig right off the bat. She was so encouraging, very helpful and made the whole experience a pleasant one. I would recommend anyone who needs a wig for any reason go to Gayla Wigs, and I pray that one day I can make the kind of impact on our world that Gayle makes everyday!!!!

A TRUE HAIR ARTIST!
Posted on 08/02/2008

I am very fortunate because I am still healthy, so I can't even begin to imagine how much those not so fortunate have benefited from Gayle's talent... her talent of boosting confidence... confidence to feel good about who you are and how you look... with incredible new hair (yes, a wig)! She has such talent, is a true hair artist, makes you feel comfortable and at ease, and treats you with such respect and professionalism... and in privacy! What a treat! As a woman in my early 50's, after many years of self dying and poisoning my head/hair, I have rapidly thinning and damaged hair. On a whim, my husband and I stopped Gayla Wigs, just for a peek. Well, an hour later I walked out a very confident new woman, and the proud owner of a fresh new look. Gayle is very refreshing. and guess what? She loves her work and it shows! I am one very satisfied client. I highly recommend Gayle, Gayla Wigs. No matter what your reason for visiting her, you will feel welcome (not embarrassed or ashamed) and you will leave feeling beautiful and confident! Kuddos, Gayle, keep up the great work that you do! THANKS! Marla

My 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer requiring chemotherapy. Another exceptionally satisfied customer guided us straight to Gayle. She selected the ideal wig for my daughter within 30 seconds. We are constantly met with the question, from doctors and fellow patients, in a polite whisper, "Is that a wig? Where did you get it?" We proudly hand out Gayle's cards and give them directions. There are no words to describe how reassuring it is to know, no matter what treatment my daughter has had to endure, that she can look just like any other teenager she passes in the hall. Gayle's personalized service, along with her compassion, sensitivity and intuitiveness, has made what could have been an awkward encounter an inspirational experience. There are angels roaming this earth, and one of them is named Gayle!

A Matter of Dignity

I have a rare neurological condition for which I must take a cocktail of medications. One side effect is hair loss. I came to Gayle defeated and embarrassed by my situation. She treated me with sensitivity and respect and gave me back my dignity. Her products are professionally made and the personalized customizations that she provides made my wig indistinguishable from my own hair. I have been repeatedly complimented on my new look. Gayle, you will always be my angel...

Loosing your hair can be difficult but Gayla wigs made me feel pretty again. Gayle is so dedicated to her work in helping women feel better about themselves. I found her informative, professional and caring. The selection and quality of wigs is very nice. I just bought my 3rd wig and everyone thinks it is my own hair!! Thank you Gayle

One Of A Kind

One year ago, not only was I turning gray but I also developed an allergy to hair dye. Every day was a "bad hair day". So, I made up my mind to find a solution---and I did! Her name is Gayle. Her understanding and compassion were remarkable. She had the integrity to say "NO" when I suggested a wig with curls and instead produced a style which was perfect. She has a "hair" talent which cannot be taught and a professional manner which is to be admired. What a difference a wig makes! What a difference Gayle makes in so very many lives. Thanks Gayle for a job well done! Wig Princess
